Los Zapadores Marcha Paso Doble (1879)
Antonio de la Cruz Quesada (1825ā€“1889)
S/AATB Saxophone Quartet

Los Zapadores Marcha Paso Doble by Antonio de la Cruz Quesada arranged for S/AATB Saxophone Quartet. Los Zapadores is a lively Spanish military march. A fanfare introduction leads to a jaunty tune that is passed between the quartet voices. The fanfare returns, followed by the return of the original tune. The march concludes with a flashy and rhythmic coda.

This arrangement of Los Zapadores Marcha Paso Doble is for S/AATB Saxophone Quartet. It includes the following:

    • SATB Sax Quartet Score
    • Soprano Sax
    • Alto Sax 1a (soprano sax alternate)
    • Alto Sax 2
    • Tenor Sax
    • Baritone sax

The march is in 2/4 throughout. The tempo is quarter = 116 ā€“ 124. It is predominantly in the key of B flat major with some modulations into closely related major and minor keys. Grade 3 ā€“ 4. An intermediate quartet may find a few challenges but should have no problems with this piece.
