AATB Saxophone Quartet
Album Leaves by Zdeněk Fibich, arranged for AATB saxophone quartet. These pieces are taken from a set of short piano works written by Czech composer Zdeněk Fibich. Three of those are included in this arrangement. Movement one, Fantasy is a counterpoint exercise with clearly defined lines, the second, entitled Norse Fisherman’s Song, is an example of close choral writing – everyone does everything together in this movement, and the third is aptly called Epilog as it sounds very much like the conclusion of something.

About the Composer
Zdeněk Fibich was a very prolific composer. He wrote operas, symphonies, chamber works, choral works, and early on in his life as a composer, a small set of piano pieces he simply called Album Leaves. Three of those little pieces are included in this transcription for AATB saxophone quartet.
