Album Leaves, (1865–1866)
Zdeněk Fibich, (1850 –1900)
AATB Saxophone Quartet
Album Leaves by Zdeněk Fibich, arranged for AATB saxophone quartet. These pieces are taken from a set of short piano works written by Czech composer Zdeněk Fibich. Three of those are included in this arrangement. Movement one, Fantasy is a counterpoint exercise with clearly defined lines, the second, entitled Norse Fisherman’s Song, is an example of close choral writing – everyone does everything together in this movement, and the third is aptly called Epilog as it sounds very much like the conclusion of something.
- The range for each saxophone part is shown below.
