Chant Pastorale
Jean Gabriel-Marie (1852 – 1928)
Soprano Sax Solo or Alto Sax Solo with Piano
Chant Pastorale by Gabriel-Marie, arranged for soprano sax solo, alto sax solo, tenor sax solo, or bari sax solo. Chant pastorale was composed in 1905 by Jean Gabriel-Marie. He is known as a composer of lighter musical works, including the famous “La Cinquantaine”. He was also one of the first composers of music specifically for saxophone but none of his early sax pieces are popular today. Chant Pastoral was written for oboe and piano but versions for clarinet, violin, and cello were published too. Now, versions for saxophone solo (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, or Baritone) exist as well. Parts are included for B flat tenor or soprano sax solo and E flat baritone or alto sax solo.
